The COVID-19 crisis has radically changed our lives and I don’t know anyone who isn’t totally fed up with lockdown. Just a few months ago, we had no idea our ‘world’ would be confined to our homes!
Although recently shops and pubs are starting to open up we are still a long way off normality!
This crisis is a powerful reminder of how important freedom is – and how much we need human connection! Remember you are not alone. Because what is DIFFERENT here is that everyone is impacted! You may be fed up with lockdown but so is your neighbour, mum, boss and friends as well as your counterparts around the world.
When you can’t change the event change your response!

This is the challenge each of us must rise to! If we’re going to be stuck at home, we may as well make the most of it.
I’ll be totally honest, I’ve struggled at the start of lockdown. I’m an introvert and I need space to recharge my batteries. My daughter has been travelling for the last 2 years but came home at the start of lockdown and my son was living away from home with his job and he came home too. My husband was furloughed too so it meant I was trying to work from home in a house of 4 adults who were doing a lot of catching up.
I was so grateful to have everyone under one roof and I don’t know how I would have coped if I’d had to homeschool too. So despite knowing how lucky I was I still found not having time alone to recharge my batteries extremely difficult.
One of the things I always turn to when I’m struggling mentally is journaling. If you’re fed up with lockdown now is the perfect time to start journaling. Journaling isn’t just about keeping a record of your day, a journal can help you explore and sift through your feelings and experiences and learn from them. It’s a great way to really get to know yourself.
Choose a beautiful notebook, but the most important thing is to just get started. Here are some prompts to get started:
